Distractions

Have you ever noticed how you get distracted from your health goals?

Have you ever noticed that distractions are rarely right in front of you?

In his book The Principle Of The Path,  Andy Stanley says, "What gets our attention determines our direction, and, ultimately, our destination."

So where is your attention?

The most important part of my business...

What is the one thing that has changed me the most when it comes to being a coach?
Has it been the workouts? While I have learned to push through mountain climbers and burpees, the workouts are only a part of it.
Has it been my daily Shakeology? Nope. I look forward to having my shake, but that isn't what's made the biggest difference.
What about communicating my business through social media? Honestly, I'm much more comfortable in a face to face conversation.
The biggest game changer for me has been my daily habit of reading personal development.
Just this year I've worked on developing habits for success after reading High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard.
I've been working on changing my mindset from You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero.
I've been learning that success comes one step at a time from The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy.
I've worked on eliminating negative self-talk after reading What To Say When You Talk To Yourself by Shad Helmstetter.
I've been learning that saying no is how to get closer to my goals from Boundaries Henry Cloud & John Townsend.
I'm working on strategies to be a more effective steward of my time from Brian Tracy in Eat That Frog.
From Eric Worre's book Go Pro, I'm putting strategies in place to build my coaching business.
All the other areas of being coach have definitely made an impact on me, bit my daily habit of personal development is how I'm becoming who I need to be in order to reach the level of success I desire

Back To Running...

I decided to jump back into running and start training for my second half-marathon that will be taking place at the end of April 2019.

For my training this time around, I've started implementing the at-home workouts I've been doing for the last 18 months as a way to improve my performance.

Additionally, I'll be making sure I have my nutrition in line. To paraphrase an adage, " You can't outrun a bad diet." I'll actually be implementing a new eating system starting in September.

All of this is to say that I'm always looking for people to join me on my journey to better health. Let me know what your goals are...

Latch On!

Over the past few months, I've really been wondering if this coaching thing is for me. I've been wondering if I will ever have the success others in my upline enjoy.
Well, I can tell you I'm definitely in this for the long haul. In her book The 5-Second Rule, Mel Robbins tells of a difficult season in her life. She goes on to tell of how before going to bed one night in 2009, she saw a television broadcast of a rocket launching. She used that image of a countdown and a rocket launching to find the courage to makes the necessary changes in her life.
Since I first listened to this book (AUDIBLE BABY!), I've been thinking about latching on to something to keep acting courageous. I've actually discovered two "latch points" for me.
The first is a piece of music. You all know the theme from the movie Rocky. This theme only has a few lyrics, interspersed throughout the song. At the beginning, singers declare, "trying hard now, it's so hard now." And that's where I felt I was. "This is so hard!" "Why am I not getting to where I want to be?" The song later states, "Getting strong now, won't be long now." I know this is where I am now. I'm feeling more confident in my conversations about what Beachbody has to offer and the opportunity available to anyone. The song ends with the resolute, "gonna fly now, flying high now." I can see it. I can see myself as the leader I'm meant to be!
The second latch point comes from the book I mentioned. It's a quote I have as my Facebook profile cover. The only credit I can give for it is Mel Robbins. It states, "You have been assigned this mountain to show others it can be moved." I have the potential to move my mountain of insecurity, my mountain of fear, my mountain of worry. I want to move these mountains to show you that your mountain is moveable.
What about you? What are your latch points? What can you latch on to do you can take that next step?
